Thomas Walton Patey (20 February 1932 – 25 May 1970) was a Scottish climber, mountaineer, doctor and writer. He was a leading Scottish climber of his day, particularly excelling on winter routes. He died in a climbing accident at the age of 38. He was probably best known for his humorous songs and prose about climbing, many of which were published posthumously in the collection One Man's Mountains.

Wspinał się też w Alpach i Himalajach, gdzie dokonał pierwszych wejść na Rakaposhi (w wyprawie tej uczestniczył też Mike Banks) i Muztagh (w wyprawie tej uczestniczyli też , Joe Brown i Ian McNaught-Davis). Zginął podczas schodzenia z kolumny na północnym wybrzeżu Szkocji. W 1971, już po jego śmierci, wydano tom prozy jego autorstwa pt. "One Man's Mountains". Il est connu pour ses ascensions hivernales, et pour ses textes humoristiques, réunis dans un recueil posthume One Man's Mountains (1971). Il est né en Écosse, a suivi des études à l' (en) et au (en) à Aberdeen. Il commence à s'intéresser à l'escalade chez les Scouts.
