- Die Ansiedler oder die Quellen des Susquehanna (Originaltitel: The Pioneers, or the Sources of the Susquehanna) ist ein 1823 veröffentlichter Gesellschaftsroman des amerikanischen Schriftstellers James Fenimore Cooper (1789–1851). Die erste deutschsprachige Übersetzung des Romans erschien im Jahr 1824. Die Ansiedler erschien als der erste Band im fünfteiligen Lederstrumpf-Zyklus um die Hauptfigur des Natty Bumppo, der als Jäger und Fallensteller an der Grenze zur Zivilisation lebt. Im chronologischen Handlungsablauf der Serie bildet der Roman den vierten Band. (de)

It was the first of five novels published which became known as the Leatherstocking Tales. Published in 1823, The Pioneers is the fourth novel in terms of the chronology of the novels' plots. (en)
- I pionieri (The Pioneers) è un romanzo scritto nel 1823 da James Fenimore Cooper. È il primo dei cinque romanzi che costituiscono la serie nota come I racconti di Calza di Cuoio, con il medesimo protagonista Natty Bumppo (ispirato alla reale figura del cacciatore e veterano della Rivoluzione americana , 1730-1813) e che abbracciano un arco temporale che va dal 1740 circa al primo decennio dell'Ottocento. Cooper scrisse il romanzo ispirandosi alla realtà che lo circondava, così i personaggi di Marmaduke ed Elizabeth Temple hanno molti tratti in comune con William e Hannah Cooper, padre e sorella dell'autore, e l'insediamento di pionieri di Templeton somiglia molto a Cooperstown, fondata proprio dal padre di Cooper.
