- Das schwarze Loch ist ein Science-Fiction-Film der Disney-Studios aus dem Jahr 1979. Er wurde im Fahrwasser von Krieg der Sterne mit einem doppelt so hohen Budget produziert, 20 Millionen US-Dollar; der Erfolg war jedoch ungleich geringer. Der in 14 Monaten produzierte und für Disney ungewöhnlich düstere Film fällt, ähnlich wie der spätere Tron, in eine strategisch kritische Phase des Disney-Konzerns. Nach dem Tode Walt Disneys verlief sich die Firma unter der Führung von CEO E. Cardon Walker auch in Produktionen, die klar außerhalb des bisherigen Disney-Produktportfolios lagen. Das schwarze Loch war einer der ersten Disney-Filme, der einer Altersfreigabe unterlag. Der Film startete in Deutschland am 18. September 1980. (de)

The music for the film was composed by John Barry.
