Gonzalo Arango Arias (Andes, Antioquia, 1931 – Gachancipá, Cundinamarca, 1976) was a Colombian writer, poet, and journalist. In 1958 he led a modern literary and cultural movement known as Nadaísmo (Nothing-ism), inspired by surrealism, French existentialism, beat generation, dadaism, and influenced by the Colombian writer and philosopher Fernando González Ochoa. He was a strong critic of the society of his time and in his works he left many important ideas and proposals.

Arango stammt aus einer wohlsituierten Beamtenfamilie. Er studierte drei Semester Rechtswissenschaften an der Universidad de Antioquia, brach dann aber das Studium ohne Abschluss ab. Viele seiner Werke verfasste Arango unter dem Pseudonym „Gonzaloarango“. Im Brotberuf arbeitete Arango viele Jahre als Bibliothekar an der Universität von Medellín und wurde dort auch für einige Zeit mit einem Lehrauftrag für Literatur betraut. (de)

En 1958 fundó el nadaísmo, movimiento artístico y literario de vanguardia, de repercusión nacional y continental, que, influido por el existencialismo francés, el surrealismo, el dadaísmo, la generación Beat, y otras de las principales vanguardias artísticas, intentó romper con la literatura, la cultura y la moral tradicional. Al grupo de artistas y escritores se unieron muchos jóvenes, que fueron inspirados a su vez por el escritor antioqueño Fernando González Ochoa. (es)
