Bernhard Fischer-Wasels (25 January 1877, in Atsch near Stolberg (Rhineland) – 23 December 1941, in Frankfurt), known as Bernhard Fischer until 1926, was a German physician and anatomical pathologist, who served as Director of the Senckenberg Institute of Pathology (1908–1941), Professor of Pathology (1914–1941) and Rector of the Goethe University Frankfurt (1930–1931). He was a leading cancer researcher and is world-renowned as the father of petrochemical carcinogenesis.

  • Bernhard Fischer-Wasels (* 25. Januar 1877 in Atsch; † 23. Dezember 1941 in Frankfurt am Main), gebürtig Bernhard Fischer und seit 1926 Fischer-Wasels, war ein deutscher Pathologe. Nach dem Medizinstudium in Straßburg, München und Berlin und der Promotion 1900 in Bonn absolvierte Fischer-Wasels die Ausbildung in Pathologie in Bonn unter Karl Köster, später unter Hugo Ribbert. 1903 habilitierte er sich für das Fach Pathologie. 1914 bis 1941 war Fischer-Wasels Professor der Allgemeinen Pathologie und Pathologischen Anatomie an der Universität Frankfurt und von 1908 bis 1941 Direktor des Senckenbergischen Pathologischen Instituts zu Frankfurt. 1930/31 war er Rektor der Universität Frankfurt.
