- De Slag bij Seckenheim was een veldslag die plaatsvond op 30 juni 1462 bij het dorpje in de Palts. Het was de beslissende veldslag in de oorlog tussen Baden en de Palts (1459-1462), waarin het Paltische leger onder aanvoering van keurvorst Frederik I van de Palts een strijdmacht van verschillende Duitse vorsten onder aanvoering van Ulrik V van Württemberg vernietigend versloeg. - The Battle of Seckenheim (June 1462) saw the army of the Electoral Palatinate led by Frederick I, Elector Palatine and his ally Dieter von Isenburg face an invading army led by Charles I, Margrave of Baden-Baden, Ulrich V, Count of Württemberg, Louis I, Count Palatine of Zweibrücken, and George of Baden, the Bishop of Metz. Without warning, Frederick suddenly struck at the invaders, trapping them in the fork of two major rivers. Though about 300 knights cut their way out, causing many non-combatant casualties, the Palatine forces were victorious. Frederick captured three of the enemy leaders and wrung ransoms and territorial concessions from them. Seckenheim is now part of the city of Mannheim in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. - Bitwa pod Seckenheim – rozstrzygająca bitwa w trakcie wojny badeńsko-palatynackiej (niem. Mainzer Stiftsfehde), w latach 1461–1462. Po śmierci, w 1449 w Worms, 25-letniego elektora Ludwika IV opiekę nad jego jednorocznym synem Filipem objął brat Ludwika Fryderyk I. W okresie swojego panowania Fryderyk poszerzył znacznie terytorium, przekształcając Palatynat Reński w jedno z najpotężniejszych i nowoczesnych księstw w zachodnich Niemczech. Zgodnie z postanowieniami złotej bulli Karola IV, Fryderyk I mógł pozostawać zastępcą nieletniego Filipa do czasu osiągnięcia przez chłopca pełnoletniości. Chcąc obejść to prawo, zaadoptował on chłopca w 1451 oraz zdecydował się nie wstępować w związek małżeński, aby zachować porządek dziedziczenia (później poślubi on potajemnie Klarę Dett).
