Jacob Hamblin (April 2, 1819 – August 31, 1886) was a Western pioneer, a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), and a diplomat to various Native American tribes of the Southwest and Great Basin. He aided European-American settlement of large areas of southern Utah and northern Arizona, where he was seen as an honest broker between Latter-day Saint settlers and the Natives. He is sometimes referred to as the "Buckskin Apostle," or the "Apostle to the Lamanites." In 1958, he was inducted into the Hall of Great Westerners of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.

  • Jacob Hamblin (* 6. April 1819 in Salem, Ohio; † 31. August 1886 in , New Mexico) war mormonischer Siedler im Westen der USA. Hamblin wurde in Ohio geboren. Er und seine Frau Lucinda, geborene Taylor, schlossen sich 1842 der Kirche Jesu Christi der Heiligen der Letzten Tage (Mormonen) an und zogen im folgenden Jahr in den damaligen Hauptsiedlungsort der Konfession nach Nauvoo in Illinois. Dort heiratete er im Sinne der mormonischen Polygamie Rachel Judd als zweite Frau. Weitere Ehen mit Sarah Priscilla Leavitt und Louisa Boneli ging er 1857 und 1865 ein. Mit den vier Frauen hatte er 24 Kinder, weitere wurden von der Großfamilie adoptiert. (de)
