- ياسر الصالحي (1974-2005) طبيب وصحفي عراقي من بغداد. بعد الغزو الأمريكي للعراق عام 2003، نشر الصالحي في صحف في جميع أنحاء الولايات المتحدة، وكان معروفًا بين زملائه بمزج العمل الطبي والصحفي. في عام 2005 بدأ الصالحي تحقيقا في التعذيب والقتل على يد القوات الخاصة بوزارة الداخلية العراقية المعروفين باسم لواء الذئب. قُتل الصالحي على يد قناص بالجيش الأمريكي في 24 يونيو 2005 أثناء اقترابه من نقطة تفتيش غير مُعَلَّمة. حظيت وفاة الصالحي باهتمام دولي باعتبارها رمزًا للصعوبات التي واجهها الصحفيون في العراق خلال الحرب. - Yasser Salihee (1974–2005) was an Iraqi doctor and journalist from Baghdad. After the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq, he published in newspapers throughout the United States, and was known among colleagues for mixing medical and journalistic work. In 2005 Salihee began an investigation of torture and killings by Iraqi Interior Ministry commandos known as the Wolf Brigade. Salihee was killed by a U.S. army sniper on 24 June 2005 while approaching an unmarked checkpoint. Salihee's death received international attention as emblematic of the problems facing journalists and security in Iraq during the war. (en)
