- Henry Pleasants (Wayne, Pennsylvania, 12 de mayo de 1910 - Londres, Inglaterra, 2000) fue un crítico de música estadounidense. Estudió piano y voz en Curtis Institute of Music, donde se doctoró en 1977. A los 19 años fue el crítico del Philadelphia Evening Bulletin donde fue su editor hasta 1942 cuando ingresó a la armada. Sirvió como agente de inteligencia luego al gobierno en Viena, Munich, Berna y Bonn, retirándose del servicio en 1964. He is best known for organizing the building of a tunnel filled with explosives under the Confederate lines outside Petersburg, Virginia, which resulted in the Battle of the Crater on July 30, 1864. The Union troops, however, failed in their opportunity to break the Siege of Petersburg. (en)
