William Cooper Davidon (March 18, 1927 – November 8, 2013) was an American professor of physics and mathematics, and a peace activist. As the mastermind of the March 8, 1971, FBI office break-in, in Media, Pennsylvania, Davidon was the informal leader of the Citizens' Commission to Investigate the FBI. The Media break-in resulted in the disclosure of COINTELPRO, which in turn led to subsequent investigations and reforms of the FBI.

November 2013) war ein US-amerikanischer Physiker und Mathematiker, der sich mit theoretischer Physik und numerischer Analysis befasste. Außerdem war er Bürgerrechts-Aktivist. 1966/67 war er als Fulbright Scholar an der Universität Aarhus und 1976/77 an der Universität Trondheim. Er war an der Entwicklung der ersten Quasi-Newton-Verfahren beteiligt, dem Davidon-Fletcher-Powell-Algorithmus. Er ist zusätzlich nach Roger Fletcher und Michael J. D.
