| - Das Dorf der Verdammten ist ein Horrorfilm von John Carpenter aus dem Jahr 1995. Der Film ist eine Neuverfilmung des gleichnamigen Films von 1960. Beide Filme basieren auf dem Roman Kuckuckskinder (The Midwich Cuckoos) von John Wyndham. Der Film wurde in Deutschland erstmals auf dem Internationalen Filmfest Oldenburg am 1. September 1995 gezeigt. Es war der letzte Film mit Christopher Reeve bevor dieser sich wegen eines Unfall und der daraus resultierenden Querschnittslähmung weitgehend als Schauspieler zurückziehen musste. (de)

Il s'agit d'un remake du film britannique homonyme de 1960 réalisé par Wolf Rilla, lui-même tiré du roman The Midwich Cuckoos de John Wyndham. Alors que l'action se situe au Royaume-Uni dans le film original et dans le roman, elle se déroule aux États-Unis dans le film de John Carpenter. Après la sortie des films, le roman originel Les Coucous de Midwich fut renommé sous le même titre que ces derniers. Le film reçoit des critiques mitigées et est un échec au box-office. (fr)
