Premiera odcinka odbyła się 23 listopada 2013 roku, w dniu pięćdziesiątej rocznicy wyemitowania pierwszego odcinka serialu, nie tylko na kanale BBC One, ale także na stacjach telewizyjnych i w kinach na całym świecie. W ten sposób Doktor Who został wpisany do księgi rekordów Guinnessa za największą jednoczesną emisję, która objęła 94 kraje świata.
