The Ombudsman for Children in Sweden (Swedish: Barnombudsmannen, abbreviated BO) is a Swedish government agency organized under the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs tasked with public advocacy and the dissemination of information about the rights and needs of children and young people. The Ombudsman should represent children regarding their rights and interests on the basis of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). The Ombudsman holds regular dialogues with children, especially those in vulnerable situations, to obtain knowledge of their conditions and their opinions. * arbetar inte med ärenden som rör enskilda barn, eller grupper av barn.
* utövar inte tillsyn.
* får inte ingripa i enskilda ärenden men har anmälningsskyldighet om medarbetare får kännedom om eller misstänker att ett barn far illa.
