| - Modální hlas je hlasový rejstřík nejčastěji používaný ve většině jazyků při mluveném projevu a zpěvu. Rovněž je to pojem používaný v lingvistice pro nejběžnější vytváření samohlásek. Pojem "modální" odkazuje na druh rezonance hlasivek. To znamená, že optimální kombinace proudění vzduchu a napětí hrtanu přináší maximální vibrace. V lingvistice je modální hlas jedinou fonací samohlásek a dalších sonor (souhlásky m, n, l, a r) většiny světových jazyků, ačkoli menšina porovnává modální hlas s dalšími druhy fonace. Mezi (souhlásky jako k, g, ch, j, s, a z), což je velmi běžné pro jazyky, které mají rozdíl mezi znělostí modálního hlasu a , ačkoli v mnohé údajně znělé vlastní konsonanty nemají ve většině prostředí žádnou znělost. V logopedii je modální rejstřík jedním ze čtyř identifikovatelných rejstříků v rámci lidského hlasu. Leží nad pulzním rejstříkem a překrývá spodní části falzetu. In linguistics, modal voice is the only phonation found in the vowels and other sonorants (consonants such as m, n, l, and r) of most of the languages of the world, but a significant minority contrasts modal voice with other phonations. Among obstruents (consonants such as k, g, t͡ʃ/ch, d͡ʒ/j, s, and z), it is very common for languages to contrast modal voice with voicelessness, but in English, many supposedly-voiced obstruents do not usually have modal voice. In speech pathology, the modal register is one of the four identifiable registers within the human voice. It is above the vocal fry register and overlapping the lower part of the falsetto register. That view is also adopted by many vocal pedagogists, but some vocal pedagogists may view vocal registration differently. In singing, the modal register may also overlap part of the whistle register.
