Klaas Bruinsma (February 1, 1931, Easterein – October 29, 2018, Drachten) was a West Frisian language translator of historical works from Dutch, Spanish and Greek, among others. He translated the works Karel ende Elegast and Beatrijs. In 1993 he was awarded the for his translation from Greek of the tragedies of Sophocles. In 2005 he obtained this prize for the second time for his translation of Virgil's Georgics and especially for his translations of the Iliad and the Odyssey of Homer. Until his retirement, Bruinsma was a lecturer of English and history at the in Drachten, amongst others.

Traduí les obres Karel ende Elegast i . El 1993 li fou atorgat el Premi Obe Postma per les seues traduccions del grec de les tragèdies de Sòfocles. El 2005 va obtenir aquest premi per segona vegada gràcies a la seua traducció de les Geòrgiques de Virgili i també per les seues traduccions de l'Ilíada i de l'Odissea d'Homer. El 2007 rebé el premi (Clavell d'argent) per la seua producció. Fins a la seua jubilació, el 1986, Bruinsma va exercir com a professor a d'anglès i d'història a l' a Drachten. (ca)
