HMS Marshal Ney was the lead ship of her class of two monitors built for the Royal Navy during the First World War. Laid down as M13, she was renamed after the French field marshal of the Napoleonic Wars Michel Ney. After service in the First World War, she became a depot ship and then an accommodation ship. Between 1922 and 1947, she was renamed three times, becoming successively Vivid, Drake and Alaunia II. She was scrapped in 1957.

Утилізований у 1957 році. (uk) Die HMS Marshal Ney war ein britischer Monitor der nach ihr benannten , die im Jahr 1915 vom Stapel lief. Sie war der erste Monitor der Royal Navy, der – wie die damals modernsten Schlachtschiffe – mit 15-inch/381-mm-Geschützen bewaffnet wurde.Dazu war sie das erste größere Schiff der Navy mit Dieselmotoren. Die Motoren waren für Handelsschiffe vorgesehen und sollten von der Royal Navy als Antrieb zweier kleiner Tanker erprobt werden. Die Motoren gaben aber dem Monitor nur eine unzureichende Maschinenleistung. Bei starkem Gegenwind war der Monitor daher nicht einsetzbar und für die geplanten Einsätze nicht sehr geeignet. 1916 wurde das Schiff daher umbewaffnet und bei Ende des Ersten Weltkriegs in die Reserveflotte der Royal Navy versetzt. 1920 wurde die Bewaffnung entfernt und der ehemali (de) マーシャル・ネイ (HMS Marshal Ney) はイギリス海軍のモニター。ジャローのパーマー社で建造。1915年1月末起工。6月16日未明にドイツの飛行船「L.10」による空襲があり、1日遅れて6月17日に進水。8月31日竣工。「マーシャル・ネイ」と同型の「マーシャル・ソウルト」の機関には建造中であった油槽船のディーゼルエンジンが利用された。「マーシャル・ネイ」に搭載されたのは油槽船「ターモイル」のエンジンで、これはドイツのMAN社の設計で、J. サミュエル・ホワイト社がライセンス生産したものであったが、信頼性に欠け、始動も始動後動かし続けることも困難なものであった。「マーシャル・ネイ」はドーヴァー戦隊に配備された。9月19日、「マーシャル・ネイ」はウェステンデを砲撃したが、様々なトラブルに見舞われ駆逐艦「ヴァイキング」に曳航されて退避した。9月25日、モニターがゼーブリュッヘ近くとウェステンデを砲撃した。これは、連合国軍の攻勢に応じて実施された、敵に上陸作戦実施と思わせるための欺瞞作戦であった。「マーシャル・ネイ」はウェステンデ担当の一艦であったが、至近弾によって航行不能に陥り、再び「ヴァイキング」によって曳航された。 (ja)
