Emilio Chuayffet Chemor (born 3 October 1951) is a Mexican lawyer and politician affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party since 1969. He previously held the office of Governor of the State of Mexico from 1993 to 1995 and Secretary of the Interior during the government of Ernesto Zedillo. He served as Secretary of Public Education under President Enrique Peña Nieto.

Chuayffet studeerde rechten aan de Nationale Autonome Universiteit van Mexico (UNAM). Hij begon zijn politieke carrière in de lokale politiek van Mexico-Stad en in 1982 werd hij burgemeester van Toluca. In 1993 werd hij gekozen tot gouverneur van de deelstaat Mexico. Twee jaar later trad hij af om minister van binnenlandse zaken te worden in de regering van president Ernesto Zedillo. (nl)
