Dans les domaines de la publicité, de la communication et du multimédia, le directeur artistique est le responsable de la création de l’identité visuelle (logotype, format, photographie, vidéo, couleurs, graphisme, etc.) d’une publication, d’un projet multimédia, d’une campagne de publicité, d’une production cinématographique ou audiovisuelle, d'une marque, d'une entreprise... et coordonne son déploiement sur différents supports.
