| - André Diot (born 1935) is a cinematographer and lighting designer of French theatre and film, who played an important role in the emergence of the profession in France. In a long career, he designed the lighting for the 1976 Bayreuth Jahrhundertring, staged by Patrice Chéreau, the opening and closing ceremony of the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, and in 2013 Così fan tutte at the Paris Opera. - André Diot est un directeur de la photographie et éclairagiste de théâtre français qui a joué un rôle important dans l'émergence de cette profession en France. Directeur de la photographie à la télévision, il a été présenté par Bernard Sobel à Patrice Chéreau, avec lequel il a longuement travaillé. En 1967, dans Les Soldats de Jakob Lenz, leur première réalisation commune, il introduit au théâtre les projecteurs HMI, habituellement réservés au cinéma ou aux manifestations sportives. Jusqu'au milieu des années 1980, il joue du noir et blanc, du contre-jour et des ombres pour créer sur scène des ambiances de clair-obscur, de crépuscule, une atmosphère poétique qui finissent par devenir la marque du tandem Diot-Chereau.
