Anthony Arthur Long FBA (born 17 August 1937) is a British and naturalised American classical scholar and Emeritus of Classics and Irving Stone Professor of Literature Emeritus, and Affiliated Professor of Philosophy and Rhetoric at the University of California, Berkeley. Long was educated at Manchester Grammar School (1948–1955) and University College, London (1957–1960) where he took a first class honours degree in Classics and was subsequently awarded a PhD degree.
