The 2012 Jacksonville Jaguars season was the franchise's 18th season in the National Football League. It was the first under the new ownership of Shahid Khan and the first and only season for head coach Mike Mularkey. The Jaguars entered the season hoping to improve on their 5–11 record from 2011 and return to the playoffs for the first time since 2007, but did not and were eliminated from postseason contention. This season marked the third time in the last five seasons in which the Jaguars finished fourth in the AFC South. The Jaguars finished with a 2–14 record, not only tying the Kansas City Chiefs for the league's worst record of 2012, but it would also be the worst in franchise history until the team went 1–15 in 2020. Their 1–7 record at home was also their worst home record in team
