| - Les Lions britanniques et irlandais, (auparavant appelés Lions britanniques) ou plus couramment appelés Lions, se déplacent principalement en Afrique du Sud lors d'une tournée organisée en 1962 avec pour points d'orgue quatre test-matchs contre l'équipe d'Afrique du Sud. L'équipe dirigée par Douglas Vaughan a pour relais sur le terrain le capitaine et joueur écossais Arthur Smith. L'équipe des Lions perd trois des quatre tests. Elle se déplace également au Kenya, en Afrique du Sud-Ouest (future Namibie, intégrée alors à l'Afrique du Sud) et en Rhodésie, devenue le Zimbabwe. (fr)
- I British and Irish Lions, selezione delle Isole Britanniche di "rugby a 15" nel 1962 si recarono in Africa per un tour in cui sfideranno gli Springboks sudafricani. Chiuderanno il tour con un pareggio e tre sconfitte nei test match. In totale 25 partite con 16 vittorie, 4 pareggi e 5 sconfitte. Capitano era lo scozzese Arthur Smith. (it)
- In 1962 the British Lions rugby union team toured Southern and Eastern Africa. Overall the tourists played twenty-five matches, winning sixteen, losing five and drawing four. The Lions were unsuccessful in the test series against South Africa, losing by three matches to nil with one match drawn. The first three tests were close; the first match was drawn 3–3 and South Africa won the second 3–0 and the third 8–3. The fourth test resulted in a bigger win for South Africa, 34–14. (en)
